          Fifteen stories, loosely centered around main character Drew Jackson, intertwine themes of innocence, celebrity, drugs, family, sex, injustice, and success.   As a small-town sports star progressing through the college athletics system, Jackson is the victim, hero, villain, or witness of every tale.
 




Westward Movement

   


          Two friends take off on the highway hoping to escape maturity, a war, and a friend’s death. For fourteen days they battle interstates, maps, an old car, and their own spontaneity in an attempt to understand their nation and what it will make of them by the time they reach its opposite coast.

Meanwhile he develops his identity as a writer, a human being, and an American.
